That comic panel is pretty exactly like Reeve's Superman lol. The smiling and winking at the audience was most likely a creative choice by the director.He behaved alot more like Henry Cavil in the early days before the comic book authority came through and everybody toned shyt down.

It's actually Reeve's depiction of Clark Kent that wasn't accurate. The Reeve version of Clark Kent was clumsy, dorky, and awkward, which wasn't a thing in comics beforehand. That portrayal of Clark has (unfortunately) become the standard and how many casual people see the character.
