Above the fray.
Im choosing Wemby without question but its the Coli, where Bron is most of the site's favorite player (even some of the Spurs/Wemby fans favorite player if you pay attention to their posts) so of course Bron is gonna be the most popular choice even with the crazy numbers Wemby is putting up in limited minutes.
LeBron carrying the likes of Donyell Marshall and Boobie Gibson to the Finals showed you the type of impact player he could be.

There have been several players who filled up stat sheets in the history of the league, much fewer impact players.

It's unfortunate (For Cleveland) that Philly took Iggy because he could have possibly been Lebron's Pippen. Instead they drafted Luke Jackson :snoop:
It’s taken Wade, Kyrie, AD, Love, Bosh and countless other great role players for Bron to squeak by with 4 rings.

Lol at you thinking Iggy would have been his Pippen :mjlol: He would have traded iggy so fast lol

Knowing what Bron's career turned out to be versus only 1 year of Wemby its damn difficult to take Wemby. He looks like he's going to be a HOFer but Lebron's career is ridiculous by any measure. Spending ~half your career in the Finals and beating the best team ever is a bar no one is touching, ever.

The logic of what he said adds up, though. Pippen was the designated defender of the other team's perimeter star. Iggy had the tools to be that, at least.
And free young LeBron from those duties.

Pippen was a multiskilled player who did a lot, but I think his biggest contribution to those rings was elite defense. Iggy was capable into developing into that role for the Cavs.

This was my immediate thought as well…..how can you not pick the most durable player with the longest consistent run of sustained excellence ever? No brainer right?

Then i thought about it further and odds are, if you draft Bron #1 his longevity don’t really mean shyt because he’s gonna be playing against you for the vast majority of those 20+ seasons anyway :lolbron:…Cavs are best case scenario far as loyalty to a franchise goes…any other team, he’s out the door as soon as possible and forget about that “I’m coming home” 2nd stint….even if you win early, he’s out the door the moment that initial window is done

Knowing that, I’ll roll the dice with Wemby

Wemby, for as great as he is, has led the Spurs to potentially a worse record than the previous year.

LeBron, on an equally terrible team, more than doubled the previous win total
This. Victorless Wembamyama puts up good numbers, but needs to add more victories to his total.

:mjlol:

Lebron never faced the 96 bulls, 87 lakers, 86 celtics or 83 sixers in the finals

Imagine winning a chip with Bron, spending millions on a parade, merchandise out the ass, new stadium, billion dollar deals -
and then he dips to LA because he read the script for Space Jam 2 :dead:

Early 00s ball was rough and the Cavs were talent deficient yet they significantly improved the year they got LeBron.

People forget that only 2 players entered out of HS and scored double figures year 1. KG and Amare. Amare scoring 13 was seen as next level shyt. So what LeBron was doing was highly impressive.

So I'd say Bron had the better year. However, I'd say Wemby is showing more signs of being otherworldly dominant years from now than Bron did. There was a slight worry his shooting might ultimately hold him back.

Sidenote: Bron/Cavs would have been better served being on the Spurs plan to secure a top 3 pick potentially. Maybe a Dwight or even a Ben Gordon.
KG averaged 10ppg as a rookie, and he was the first player out of high school taken in like 20 years.
