I don't think the WWE was ever really interested in him (his fukked up arms and his attitude, more on this later), he didn't have Hep B when he started in TNA, he contracted it later, which is why he stopped wrestling with them, it's contagions through blood, he shouldn't ever be cleared to wrestle with that shyt.
He is a great wrestler, but is probably the most miserable, annoying person in real life. My friend trained with him in HWA with Les Thatcher. He hates the wrestling business, fans and pretty much despises everyone who made it to WWE. He thinks no one is as talented as him and a "great injustice in the world was done because he never made it."
It's like when I met his fagat ass through my friend at a party, he introduced himself as Nigel McGuiness, and for the longest no one knew his real name because he didn't want anyone knowing it, my boy let it slip as Steve and he got pissed. It wasn't on his Wikipedia for the longest time.
