I grew up on collards being made with neckbones but everybody in my family has switched to using smoked turkey now. You gotta season the hell out of them but they are :ohlawd: &:feedme:

You're crazy op! :picard:

My mom makes it with smoked turkey and that's how I learned to make it too. That's how I'll teach my future children.

You don't like collard greens and didn't know where :dahell: came from. You're looking very funny in the light op.

Try this recipe (great for keto)

Ham hock
Apple cidar vinegar
Salt
Lakanto sweetener
Crushed garlic
Sweet onions
Cayenne pepper
Collard greens
Chicken broth
Butter/clarified ghee/coconut oil
Water

Vegan/vegetarian option

Veggie boullion cube or veggie broth
Apple cidar vinegar
Lakanto sweetener
Clove of garlic
Sweet onions
Cayenne pepper
Collard greens
Vegan ham flavor
Vegan butter/coconut oil
Water

Sauté garlic and onions in butter or coconut oil in a large saucepan. Deglaze cooked veggies with broth, vinegar and water. Add seasonings and sweetener and meat (or not if vegan). Bring to a boil. Add washed collards to boiling seasoned broth.

Cook with closed lid until tender.

I guarantee you will love them. You can also do a similar recipe with other veggies such as cabbage, turnip greens, fresh green beans.

I will disagree with the coli on the best preparation, though.

For years I ate them with bacon, neckbones, and a bunch of other shyt in there (onions garlic) and it was fine.

Recently though I started sauteeing them shyts with half a tablespoon of this shyt and some red pepper flakes.... :ohlawd:

shyts take about 8 mins instead of an hour, and they're much healthier and imo taste better.

:usure:

How many greens in that serving breh? That base is salty as hell and is to make CUPS of broth! I hope you’re not eating all that salt.

Be safe out here.
