I wouldnt say "a long time ago"

but quality wise he has surpassed wayne I gotta say :manny:
He did it in 6 months. He advanced lyrically from wayne in six months.

Let's face it. Young Thug is now, Young Thug. I don't consider him anything close Lil Wayne anymore. Part of that reason is that Wayne fell the fukk off in the time that Jeff got on.
He is a complete rapper, an intricate lyricist, an involved songwriter, and he has a very natural style that changes at the drop of the dime.

I've listened to new Wayne and it's sad to think this guy was like the hottest rapper in the game at one time. What happened? The game just past him and his style and he's stagnated lyrically and his content is just predictable. Even though Young Thug doesn't have a fraction of Wayne's sales, he's eclipsed his talent tenfold.

Nah..he the most talented MC on the roster today hands down

If u dnt agree then u aint paying attention

Its rlly that simple
I can tell alot of people who say that don't listen to Young Thug's music like that. I used to write him off cqaue I had that east coast lyrical standard set in my mind, but when you listen to his music you can tell he's spitting cause you go back to certain parts just to fully take in what he said.

Rappers have basic flows for the most part, but Young Thug does the double time triple time lyricism and you can still make out what he's saying. He has punchlines, metaphors, rhyme schemes, he's just applying them in a different format that not alot of people are used to.

How are you going to say Young Thug isn't lyrical but Bone Thugs is?
:usure:

You got understand, these southern rappers aren't approaching hip-hop like us east coasters, in NYC especially.

Midwest rappers always seem to embrace this format of "riding music" basically bass heavy beats kind of smooth, but the rappers on the track are spitting in double time and triple time and playing with the time signatures in teh lyrics in contrast. Like Z-Ro or ABN

The "Migos" flow. Like how can you say the Migos cannot spit? They heavy lyrically it's just cause it doesn't meet old school elitist NYC set hip-hop standards that don't apply anymore anyways.

So yes...I listen to young thug and his best moments are very obvious and very present and very frequent...it's just at this point if you don't know or don't care to acknowledge it it's whatever. They can't get past the way he dresses or him calling people on instagram bae or hubby...but the dude can spit and he got talent and an original style at this point and you can't deny it.
