I hear you on that. I was one of those, walking the streets homeless, and in fact- skid row out here is primarily a mass of negus with a few latinos and whites sprinkled in. shyt looks like Zion off the Matrix- It IS depressing. It's so depressing that I realized the powers that be are counting on us to internalize their hatred of us and use it to hate each other, as well as operate from a defeated mindstate.

But since we're being honest, I can say that my issues were as a result of drug addiction. I'm not saying I squared up completely but it's interesting to me that drug USE in our community is being promoted at a disgusting rate thru our music and entertainment. Again, it's not like everybody else ain't gettin high either but we don't have the luxury as black folks to be walking around with our head in the clouds 24-7.

I amaze myself at the amount of business I get done now that Im not roaming around looking for a jug on some zombie shyt. nikkas think we can drink and smoke away the pain but that shyt is actually one of the primary reasons we get fukked over. Not focused

I assumed a lot of had to do with drug and alcohol addiction along with mental illness. It's sad because in my neighborhood people pretend like they don't see them. The shyt is heart breaking because I know that one wrong mistake and that could have been me. Seeing black people treat other black people like shyt hurts more than anything

I believe everyone is talking about the masses of black people. Sure there will be some who are fine, but for the majority of us we're in a very vulnerable situation.

I gotta spot on the west side of Atlanta and the amount of poverty and homelessness is depressing. In the morning on my way to work I see tons of mostly black men wandering the streets unemployed and damn near homeless.

Black male unemployment is 50-60% in some neighborhoods. That's the future for the rest of us if things continue on its current path

Yeah... there have always been a few black folk who do well. But when you look at the forest and not just a few trees....

We are doomed if we continue on the same course. We all see the problems in our communities. We need to become problem solvers.

Everything @31Flavors said is right. I don't see most black people doing anything everyone is just c00ning, bafooning, cheesing and dancing. And the worst part is is that you can't even have a conversation about these things with many black people because the moment they hear something they don't like they get emotional and start raising their voices and acting crazy.

To a lesser agree I see why we don't stick together. To a extent it has to do with comfort. Cats are too comfortable and rarely look outside their narrow view of life ( who in my opinion has harbor resentment on the community for ever). These people know how to divide and conquer on a extreme level. Blacks on the other end are less prepared for the future. Cats are living for the moment.

The solution is a little discipline, a little sacrifice and little hope in our end. It possible but cats are complacent. Some have already given up while others look for options. I'm the latter, I refuse to die on my needs!
