I was there for that era. What people meed to understand is back in the 80's/early 90's, nikkas from the hood wasn't doing the mall or Madison/5th ave to shop for gear. The average person was copping from the local clothing and sneakers spots around the way. The only dudes from the hood that were hitting the mall or the city to cop like that back then were dope dealers. And of course people like the Lo Lifes who use to boost. I noticed certain dudes from around the way that were getting money rocking the Lo pieces back in the late 80's. This was a few years before the Teddy Bear knits and Indian Head joints. The Suicide Ski Man jackets were out (I think 88 or 89) and you was THAT nikka if you had one. Triple Fat Goose actually got their style from that specific Ralph jacket. By 92, Lo and Hilfiger started to become more common in the hood. By 95/96, Hilfiger eclipsed RL, in regards to popularity in the hood but not by substance. What hurt Hilfiger in the long run was it became nothing more then a high end Fubu. Sad to say but if you start marketing your clothes to the hood, usually your brand is not going to last long. By 96, Hilfiger started following the trends instead of setting them. Because of that, their popularity didn't last long.

I don't care about Dro or Kanye, you asked for evidence & I provided it

Daze-Lo :snoop:

I'm sayin, none of that shows why you feel the need to come out your face and say "these guys are lame as fukk". it's obvious you're butthurt. otherwise why would you care?

I can see how someone would thinks it's kinda corny. I think it's ill. But, this is our history and what we post here will be online for others years to come. There's nothing wrong with at least bringing the information to the table.

Does anyone know if the Wu was inspired by the Lo's in anyway?

:dwillhuh:

Dissing Kanye West for claiming to be a "Lo-head" in Barry Bonds is lame. Dissing Young Dro for naming his MIXTAPE "Lo Life" is lame. Not that hard to understand.

Me calling them lame is no different than someone else saying "Nas lost" or "Immortal Technique sucks", why does what I said bother you so much? You "don't care" yet you asked where they dissed them & when I showed you proof, I'm the one that's "butthurt". :mindblown: Why would I care about a bunch of failed rappers that still wear Polo Sport? :heh:

Don't get me wrong, seeing old pics from 90's NY in old school RL & Hilfiger is dope as hell, makes me wish I was in my teen years back then instead of just a kid. Those Tommy Hil lanyard key holders were :boss: status on the playground

that's my point. it's obvious you do care, or you wouldn't have bothered with this thread
Just gave my opinion on them, didn't think anyone would get so riled up about it :ld:
