Yes but there was no MMA as competition back in those days. UFC was only have 3-5 events per years back then, now they have 3-5 events in a month. They only started expanding in 2005.

Accessing stuff like Pride and Pancrase back in the day was similar to getting AJPW/NJPW stuff, you either had to tape trade/get imported from other countries/or be lucky that your cable/satellite provider somehow would show it on an obscure channel

Combat sports can integrate bits of wrestling promotion tactics, but wrestling cant really integrate combat sports on a large level.

You had Undertaker trying to emulate parts of it but wwe never really played it up. Even Taker vs Brock they didn't really play it up.

Goldberg is a huge mma mark and even him vs Brock, they didn't integrate mma at all

The Reigns/Strowman and Brock/Joe feuds are perfect examples of adult oriented, fukkery based feuds that can exist in this era without going completely overboard like they might've in the Attitude or Ruthless Aggression era. Even the Uso/New Day feud, while pushing the envelope with the rap battle, didn't go totally over the top. As long as they keep doing stuff like this we'll basically have what you're asking for in the OP

UFC copied all that from wrestling. So you want 70s/early 80s pro wrestling.
