What the fukk is with all these Purple Tape hate threads the past few weeks?
Straight up, these type of threads should be fukking outlawed. I don't care about everyone has a right to an opinion, blah blah, whatever. Unless it's a troll or shock thread, there should be a rule where you can't just say "Illmatic wasn't even top 5 of the 90's" or "Linx wasn't top 5 of 95" etc.
I have to assume these threads were made by people that were young children or not even alive when the album came out. Or, by people that just can't hear for shyt with terrible taste.
How in the world could anyone say it's not one of the top 5 albums of 95. That's beyond ridiculous. It's one of the best albums ever. The production is perfect, the lyrics are masterful, the theme is so original, the formula has been copied by everyone's favorite rapper. The album is fukking flawless.

The Infamous is arguable for sure. But once again, that album is also one of the best of all time, and comparing Linx and Infamous is mostly just a matter of personal preference. It's so hard to lay those albums out and compare them.
The TS named some fantastic albums. Credit given there, and if Linx isn't your favorite album of 95, or even if you don't like it, fine. But the consensus by 99% of hip-hop fans is that it's one of the greatest albums of all time, and certainly one of the best 3 albums from 1995.

I think people need to separate personal opinion from reality.
