Lets be Real: Neither Nintendo nor Microsoft thought the PS4 would be priced so cheap

Sony has lots of different games, it's just that they're usually sent out to die because their overshadowed by big games with huge marketing budgets.

Look at all these games... None of these games every get brought up yet people always say Sony just makes games focused on cinematics and crazy graphics.

How you gonna compare a game that is as big as GTA that's on multiple consoles and has been well established to a small title like Tearaway or Sly Cooper?? not getting in yall shyt, just wanted to point out I own sly cooper, journey, flower, flow, ratchet/clank, puppeteer, and lil big planet...why? cause I like gaming and they fun games...and that's all that matters to me...but to most, it's not just about the fun factor of games...things more important to most gamers in games nowadays: being mature/realistic, looking great, and running at certain specs ...fun factor is low on the list...that's why a lot of games with lil marketing budgets get overlooked and don't sale like that...people not willing to give them a try if they don't meet those other standards...

also, a lot of gamers are sheep...they wont give something a try unless the majority are talking about it and/or until it gets a sequel...

Would you pay $300 yearly for a new phone that never improved it's lcd screen, processing speed and aesthetics?? 6-8 years later and a new system is out, expectations are rising so graphics are obviously going to play a role in that. You dudes fail to realize that a game development team consist of people with DIFFERENT roles.

A gameplay designer ain't the one making the graphics. Saying graphics is the sole focus is stupid. Crysis 1 for PC is considered one of the best FPS games out and yet that game looks amazing. As much as you guys hate to admit it, better graphics enhance immersion of a game. No one wants to play a game where you're barely able to tell apart the floor from the enemy. Better looking games produce more vivid worlds, better hardware allows for better enemy ai, better weapon variables, basically things that can involve gameplay. You couldn't make Mario galaxies and Super Mario 3d worlds with outdated hardware.

I think you misunderstood my statement, but i said that the weekly sales of PS4 barely hovers over weekly sales of Wii U in Japan.

Have anyone seen console sales in Japan lately? That shyt is status to all 3 systems.

Be glad that the PS4 done well in US of A, cause that saved Sony asses as a whole. But Wii U has unprecedented great games out now, though

I love my wii u, It has games that I absolutely love and play the hell out of. I seriously love everything about the console and for me personally the game library is killing the other two both with current titles and with anticipated titles, but in regards to the topic, I definitely think they expected the ps4 to have a higher price tag.

Sony did absolutely everything right leading up to the launch in the west. They courted devs with a straight forward easy to develop for system, they didn't comment on DRM at all and let MS shoot themselves in the foot, they hyped their indie support (even though very similar support was already being offered on wii u), they promoted third party titles heavily, they one upped everyone in having the most powerful console on the market, they have a clear and concise message and target market (its a non complicated, powerful gaming system designed "for the players"), and they offered it at a reasonable price right in between the other two consoles. Seriously, they did everything right and are enjoying the spoils of that right now. It might not have the batshyt crazy wide spread appeal of the wii launch but this was seriously just perfectly executed and whoever was in charge of this launch deserves a standing ovation.

Like I said, im really addicted to the wii u right now and ps4 doesn't have the games that appeal to me personally, which is crazy cause ps3 was my main last gen, (I'm really personally disappointed in the lack of Japanese devs, and i also hate what happened to Ratchet and Clank last gen) but you gotta be crazy to say that they didn't do the damn thing with this launch
