Yes it's pretty much a wrap and it's mainly due to our image/reputation as a collective.

Out of all the groups worldwide , black Americans consume the most negative imagery OF THEMSELVES.....we constantly consume the most UNLIKEABLE versions of black people.

The only way to escape the bottom is through unity and to be totally honest that'll probably never happen because we simply don't love, value , respect and trust each other enough.... mainly due to the imagery we constantly see of ourselves.

Black people constantly seeing black people portrayed as thugs, gangbangers, drugdealers and the overall scum of society has killed our "pride" as a collective and love/respect for each other

For the ones that have a loser/victimhood/coward/excuse-making mentality, yeah it's very possible it's going to be a wrap for them. Maybe that's a good thing for Black America, though :jbhmm: Many of you NEED TO GO!!! :camby:

The current state and future state of black America is that our condition will likely stay the same as it is now.

Some will flourish, some will just be an opportunity away, and there will be the poor.

I feel like we get bogged down into a lot of the different reasons for why we’re in our position but we overlook why others “thrive”. One big reason for this is because of our situation in this country and how it slowed down our progress as a group. We lack a certain togetherness that other groups have. Their culture is what brings them together. Whereas Black Americans connect over some loose cultural elements but we don’t function as a unit. Other groups largely do.

Every other racial group has strong cultural bonds that tie them together. They work together, eat together, build together, etc. I feel like we’re finally trying to get to that stage and that we’re at the early stages of where other minority groups have been at for a long time. We have a lot of catching up and work to do. But I don’t identify with this doom and gloom narrative that some have for us. We can and need to do better but we’ll be fine.

I mean.

Are you surprised?

You got idiots on here who don't believe asymmetrical warfare has been committed against Black people
since 1964.

60 years of moving people into project housing, defunding our schools, off shoring jobs that were previously
gateways to the middleclass (Minneapolis and Ohio literally built their music scenes off of the incomes of Black Factory Workers) etc.

You have an entire generation of Black Americans whose parents were able to escape poverty, integrate into (White) society
and effectively gave up any kind of organizing or commitment to lasting change.

People on here believe it's all just "merit" and you just "gotta work hard".

shyt is like listening to a bizarre fusion of Barack Obama/Bill Cosby and a Republican all rolled into one.

y'all really, really struggle with systemic racism and what it means.
