We both grew up in Black neighborhoods and did live in a Black area but my wife got a new and better job and the commute was terrible from where we lived. We needed more space anyway so we found our current area.

Granted we are not the only Black folks but it is only 5-10% though we are tight knit. She may get a promotion which could make the commute tolerable again and this combined with the current climate has us discussing ending back in a Black area.

There is less to choose from up North. We are both from the South and if I was anywhere from MD on down a good Black area would be not too difficult.

Pre 2000s there were still some lines but those are gone now, so by the generation they become less of a factor.

The Boule never countered the attack on the black family because in their minds they had lineage to fall back on but ignoring the influence the world has on people and with the concept of race you can't differentiate yourself like you think to continue the "we don't do that stuff in our culture...".

Even the children of well to do Black people in the diaspora suffer the same fate (as their families are the Boule equivalent where every they are from OR even live in proximity to the Boule types thus intermix).
