If he swapped places with Drob during his prime/peak, he wouldn't have won shyt either:mjpls:. Now he's a better postseason performer and a better leader but He came up at the right time while David had to play with mediocre to below average teams throughout the 90's, specifically on Offense.

:beli: Really breh

:what: title is Duncan in winning in Drob's shoes from 89-96? None. That's all I said. But if you asked anyone they'd tell you Duncan is a much better player. He's a better playoff performer but he came around at the right time and with the right team. If David is drafted in 97' they win the same title in 99' and he's looked at in a completely different light.

Not to mention he played in a better era of big men

He came at the 'right time' when Kobe and Shaq were together and Shaq was still a dominant force?

You're wrong.. but I get what you're going at..

Duncan is a little overrated IMO. He was a great player, no doubt. But his peak doesn't stand up against the immortal six or even Shaqs.. I can't rank him any higher than 8th place all-time, which isn't a knock on him at all. So that's where he's around on my all-time list.

:scusthov:Lets not romanticize DRob now....he was nice but ol' boy was easily one of the most mentally fragile cats in the game. We gonna sit here and act like he didnt let Hakeem molest him on his mvp night? Dude had great numbers but was never the type that you thought would win a ring as a main offensive threat, he always needed his batman out there.

I use to go hard for the Spurs and Suns in the 90s them Spurs fools stayed lettting me down:snoop:

This thread isnt serious right?:mjpls:

The only time he beat them when they were both superstars was when their supporting cast had completely fallen off and Kobe was injured. He played well but overall 2003 was A weak year.

When I say right time , I mean with the teammates he had( a superstar Drob coming back from injury) eventually ginobli and Parker becoming stars, and coach Pop and the era he played in. It wasn't as strong as the one Drob played in in his prime.

David is more physically gifted and a better defensive player. Duncan is more clutch, a better leader and a better playoff performer. I never denied that, and I'm not saying Drob is a true number one option he was soft, but if Duncan was in his place in his prime he doesn't win anything either and the narrative is that Tim is the choker or loser.

As for The 95' WCF, Is Timmy beating Hakeem in 95' either?:childplease:
