Lets be real, 2pac deserved an oscar for his role in 'Juice'

He played his persona before it became his persona. He was like 19 when Juice was filmed. And that was during the Keep Ya Head Up, socially conscious, idyllic pre-prison sentence Pac.

2pacalypse Now came out two months before the film premiere. He might have been recording his debut around the same time as the film. I consider them both classics.

I wouldn't say that, Pac used to scrap a lot back in the Bay before the fame in spite of the socially conscious side. It wasn't like he became some rah rah gangsta after the fact, its that he got worse and got around worse people. Shock G got stories for days about how wild Pac was when he first got with DU. Its like people forget that dude went to an Arts school and learned acting. I'd say part of the Bishop character was him but a lot of it was drawn from what Pac had seen and who he'd been around.

It was a solid performance...nothing more. I think you can make the case that Larenz Tate as O-Dog in menace was far superior in a similar role. Tate is a sweet, soft spoken, 5 foot nothing kid from the 'burbs, and I swear if he had showed up in the rawest hoods after that movie was released, he could have punked the niccas on the block into playing hopscotch on command.

O Dog did do that role justice, but how much acting did he really do?

His whole role was being a regular brainless teenager talking and the occasional bucking.

2Pac was psychological. You watched Bishop turn into a complete lunatic. You literally watched him scene by scene delve deeper and deeper into his killer paranoia as the movie goes on.

That talk with breh at the locker, is that Oscar worthy moment.

I remember the interviews from jail and you could tell that shyt just broke that nikka spirit. I'm not saying he wasn't bout that life or did a complete 180, but he was very young and 20 when his first album dropped. There was a difference between the more socially conscious Pac, to the later 7 day theory fukk the world Pac.
