This generation of fans does the art form an injustice when artist are held to weird (not even high, just plain weird) expectations. Do you know how many sounds and different vibes artists like Stevie Wonder, Prince, MJ, etc went thru and experimented with? The fans are the ones holding hip hop back! And now I find myself in a thread defending an obviously talented artists before his FIRST major DEBUT! Too many cats wanna front like they have supreme hip hop knowledge and they are the standard bearer for what's good or not. Let the album sink in first. We've heard a fraction of the songs on the album, and yet we're debating the direction he is taking on this album. Weird....

Kendrick has been changing his sound for every LP he has released, this one is no different.

I'm not saying I agree with the topic. I'm saying I disagree strongly with the premise of CrimsonTider's post.

Yeah I figured you didn't agree, so that post wasn't really
aimed at you, it's really for other people in this thread.

I was just pointing out that people are saying there is a decline in quality when dude hasn't dropped off in any area that's obvious to me.

I just don't hear this apparent drop in quality, Kendrick doesn't seem
like a rapper who would get swept up in Label politics or let his music
be compromised just so he can sell records.
I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm just saying that so far he hasn't
created anything that would indicate he plans on making terrible music.

I'm on the Kendrick train till it stops. I wouldn't care if he dropped an album produced by David Guetta I know that boy would rip every beat.

His sound is becoming more mainstream, and judging by the post in this thread it's working so good for him. I just wish he would've kept that group of in house producers cause they really help define Kendricks sound. Don't care either way Oct 22nd. I'm :eat:

At least they're not making him go the slaughterhouse route

:laff: Fashawn one of them rappity rapping ass nikkas. Tell him make tape as cohesive as OD or Section.80, then we'll talk about who's better.

*Ignores Blu* :heh:

So Kendrick isn't one of those rippitty rapping types?

And Fashawn has many cohesive releases so your talking out of your ass, stop dikkriding.

:beli:

I listen to both artists, Kendrick is FAR from a rappity rap type (did you get the premise of Section.80?)

And as a whole TAPE, Fashawn doesn't have anything close to either Section.80 or OD. Put it this way, Higher Learning 2 is a great mixtape. Overly Dedicated could have been packaged and given out as an album, that's how put together the tape was.

Just my opinion though :youngsabo:

I guess your idea and my idea of a rippitty rapper :snoop: are different.

But you saying that Fashawn has no cohesive projects is way off the mark but hey your opinion is your opinion, I can respect it, I'd never begrudge a man that.
