Let's be honest about Drake...can some of y'all really say he's not talented?

Some of y'all hate him for being from Toronto.

Some of y'all hate him for not growing up "poor" or in the hood (even tho 95% of y'all didnt either)

Some of y'all hate him for being half white/Jewish (which if you're black and hating on any race/religion for no reason, slap yourself)....and why don't y'all hate on Obama for being half white?

Whatever other multiple cockemayme reasonings y'all have from a NON-MUSIC standpoint.....

But let's be honest. This dude is talented. He's talented as a rapper. He doesnt spit stupid ass Mother Goose rhymes. He writes good songs when hes "singing". He can hold his own on any song with nearly any rapper on the track. On top of that, I think it's fairly unique to have heard how he grew from where he was on those early mixtapes to where is now. He has the co-sign of J-Prince, Bun B, etc....they didnt have to f with him like that before he blew up. It was no guarantee he was gonna be big.

I like DMX and remember buying IDAHIH the first day it dropped as a youngster....but alot of y'al "real hip hop heads" are just hating b/c it's "cool" to do so.

I have no problem with him. He has some songs here and there but I dont be banging his shyt like that. He's good at what he does for his lane but when nikkas start talking crazy and want to put him on Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Nas, Ice Cube, Pac levels is where the backlash comes

But the thing is, his lifestyle was not/is not theirs.

how do you listen to that and come to the conclusion that dude is wack and has no talent? I don't get it... his wordplay has been nice going back to Room For Improvement and he can actually write well crafted songs, a skill that isn't too prevalent these days
