Less Than Half of US Workers Use All Their Vacation Days

Only 48% of US workers say they use all their vacation days, according to a new survey from Pew Research Center. Those who don't take all their time off say it's because they don't need it, or they worry about falling behind at work or feel badly about co-workers carrying their load. A few even think vacation time hurts their chances for promotions or could cost them their job. There is growing anxiety in the labor force with layoffs spreading, hiring slowing and organizations cutting perks and other costs. Last month, the job site Indeed said it was reducing headcount because it's "simply too big for what lies ahead" -- an excuse used by many companies to justify recent cutbacks. It's no wonder that workers are exhausted.

I carry over my 80 hours vacation every year. I use all the time I accur other than that which is a month.

For sick time I usually have 3 weeks to a month built up. We only get 7 days a year.

I havent used it since 2021.

I WFH and haven't traveled out the country since.

Considering a trip to Hawaii over summer, but I probably still won't use it :pachaha:
I don't travel really and I use my vacation days just to not have to work. They only let us carry over 80 hours annually so past that you lose whatever you don't use. Your job lets you indefinitely build vacation time?

That’s unusual. Them not limiting vacation time would mean a person could potentially have thousands of hours.

Our sick time is capped around 500 hours and while vacation time isn’t capped only 80 hours can be carried over from year to year making the rest worthless if not used that year.

ATL, but rasied in DMV
This ain't the case with this buddy of mine up in the DMV, who's about a GS 14 in the Federal Government. Every time I turn around, he and his wife are at the beach in Atlantic City. But for some reason, I never hear him mentioning any beach in the South, where it's much warmer. Anyway, it's either he's on vacation, or he's at home working remote. Almost wish I would have kept my job, with all this work at home going on. But when he's at home, he do be working. With that said, I'm still glad I'm gone. I'd never want to bring anything from that job to my home, not as long as I'm working under the same wicked people, where even the higher were tryna getting me out the paint.
