.When I said Indian/black don't really mix, I was specifically referring to within the southern Africa region where this woman is from. Indians very rarely mixed with or integrated with black people in apartheid South Africa, and the racial totem pole which had blacks at the very bottom was one of the biggest reasons. It's still more or less the case today. She's probably telling the truth about her heritage.
