[How's that working out for you] I voted for you but there are no jobs near me. People are struggling out here and we're not going to make it. I'm getting laid off and I can't find a job no matter how much I apply to anything. Inflation in my area is still pretty high. I don't know what I'm going to do

Living in a red state is a death sentence for economic reasons. No one around that person has a job? :mjtf:

That a recipe of going to a failed state, like Afghanistan.

While Trump is advertising for people to buy $DJT, the people in the comments section are less than happy.

We aren't close to the bottom yet.

│ people haven't even notably lost their jobs yet. March jobs report is still positive. (ignore the fact it's positive by less than the total number of furloughed federal employees who are essentially fired but haven't been counted yet)

│ A lot of people on here may not have been making meaningful memories in 2008, or may have blacked out any they were making... but the stock market doens't mean shyt. Employment is the engine that drives the country, and everything that's happening right now is just the prelude to people losing their jobs. Start seeing some of those brand-new mortgages on ridiculously overpriced houses go into foreclosure. Or even worse, your cash-out refi crowd who had some equity and blew it all on vacations fancier than their income should allow or mid-life crisis sports cars.

│ Losing 10% of a stock portfolio that was already over-inflated is nothing. We're still at the apex of the rollercoaster. The stock market's panic is just the process of first being able to look over the edge before you actually start to fall.

│ │ Tariff inflation is only going to start hitting from now on too.

│ │ │ The news was saying yesterday that stocks of many imported goods like tvs and electronics etc. have a 3-4 month buffer right now until they’re gone. So in one quarter we could see most things we buy double in price and beyond.

│ │ │ │ When replacement inventory cost goes up, you sell current inventory at the new price.
│ │ │ │
│ │ │ │ Tariff'd goods won't hit the US East Coast until May at the earliest, but you'll start seeing price increases now, even on inventory that's got an 8 month buffer.
