I think las plagas is less scary than the t virus in general

Obviously it's horrifying if you were there in real life but RE2 is a scarier game with a scarier setting. Leon probably feels invincible after dealing with and surviving that fukkery.

RE2 is definitely scarier but RE4 remake is scarier than the original RE4. The castle underground areas were a little spooky especially after encountering the garrador
