he cuts his hand 5 seconds in and whipes the blood on her face like 2:30 min in, the shots and camera angles change lots of times during this time interval. Sure he continued his monologue with his hand bleeding but there is no chance in hell he wiped his real blood on the face of an unsuspecting actress

youtube comment (this is what i think happened)
they probably finished that take, and after Leo got his hand fixed up, Quentin probably came up and said something like, That was fukkin great, seriously. Wait! This just gave me an interesting idea... On the next part of the scene, what if we put fake blood on your hand where you cut yourself, and you smear it all over Broomhildas face in front of Django at the table!"

I rly fear for the guy. Notice every film he does has been increasingly wild/violent but he does it so well.
He might go off the deep end if he gets snubbed for 2 more seasons

breh ate raw bison liver and slept in animal carcasses for the revenant. he better win now.

Leonardo DiCaprio Slept in Animal Carcasses and Ate Bison Body Parts for The Revenant
what does this have to do with his performance tho?
i remember charlize theron winning an oscar for Monster. Her performance was average at best but she gaind some wieght and had great make up artists. She beat Naomi Watts that year, witch was :mindblown: to me. Her performance in 21 grams was one of the strongest performance i've seen from an actress in my whole life.
Never got why hollywood gives oscars to actors for gaining weight or losing it

Prepares for the role and for the emotion involved in such scenes, which makes the performance feel more real when you watch it I guess.

Method actors are some of the best actors. Leo/DDL/Ledger etc.
i get that they sacrificed for the role... but they have to bring a strong performance not jut lose/ gain weight like Charlize did.
Lol at puttin Ledger next to DDL. Bale is a better example for method acting. But he said he was done with this after his quick weight gain for american hustle kind of messed with his health

Leo probably wins.

Steve Jobs flopped too hard. So Fassbender is out for the win.

Damon is only fine in The Martian. It's not a big or surprising performance from him, as he's always good.

Nobody seems to care about The Danish Girl, so Redmayne ain't winning.

Concussion just screened at AFI, and Smith got praise for his acting, but the movie isn't good enough.

Black Mass is too low-key right now. So no Depp win.

Youth has little buzz right now, so Caine is out.

Sam Jackson has a good role in The Hateful Eight, but he can't win in lead for that.
That basically leaves Leo with the win, unless Steve Carell is absolutely incredible in The Big Short. :leostare:
