She was pregnant in her late 30s/early 40s. She had two high risk pregnancies with one ending in miscarriage and the next one spent on bed rest.Man, let's not be so quick to judge people y'all. Might be a medical reason why she's gained weight, like if she has to take medicine for something and it cause her weight to fluctuate or something. Or maybe she did just get reckless w/ eating and just simply gained weight.
Whatever the case, just let that woman be.
I do miss 90's Lela tho.
That kinda stuff doesn't help.
Also heard they've had a...stressful marriage.

Actually man....not sure if your are obese or don't go to the gym but women in their 50s and 60s regularly attend the gym these days....they especially love those classes that they have at the gym focusing on dance, cardio and stretching....honestly u need to get out more. It's not rare and very common. The days of people turning into hermits and rocking chair grannies at 60 is over.clown ive been here since the onset of this board...migrated from SOHH....

Again, there's a difference between aging and completely letting yourself go.
Hair thinning, skin wrinkling, dark spots are all normal parts of aging. Gaining as much weight as she did is not a normal part of aging. It's just not. She clearly let her self go.

for the record i do go to the gym...and while there may be a few old broads in there in the aerobics class....they are by far a minority....
i suppose we should also ignore evidence of this being the most obese country, and in particular black women being overweight because of your personal anecdotal evidence to the contrary....
