That’s the point it wasnt supposed to be so hard for black folks in LA to get a license through the social equity program. Read the article when you have time it’s interesting when you consider LA is the capital of the weed shyt. If we can’t get it right here it looks dim for black folks around the country wanting to get in.

Folks on here apparently don't have empathy for their fellow African Americans like that so they don't care breh :francis:

Just a quick "Of course the white man is gonna keep us down, news at 11:jawalrus:"

Ive been meaning to discuss this.
This whole idea of legalized marijuana being reparations and building black wealth doesnt work simply because look at how many Black people own dispensaries PERIOD in America compared to just White People in California
:dwillhuh:
Its legit depressing.
All this money from legal MJ and 90%+ of it is going to white people's generational wealth...
:martin:
None of it is going to Black people.
It truly angers me.

Folks keep screaming about why do "we" (African Americans) keep voting for the Democrats and if they would read the damn article, these Black politicians will pay lip service is these poor and disenfranchised communities.

Now, you can show and tell all the different times this has not worked for us.

Try telling that to someone with kids and the rent is due. They will take ANY chance to help themselves (contrary to stereotypes) even if it may be for political points.

They knew it was a long shot, white folk already had feet on the ground. But it was better than spending another round in prison for a dime bag (as again, mentioned in the article. Smh)

That is the mindset these folks have.

I don't wanna hear anymore about some "Black" community on The Coli. Just like the article, take care of those close to you.

fukk everybody else :pacspit:

Country was founded on dividing us between house slaves and field slaves....Does not matter how many hundreds of years pass, the one thing that is indelible is that black people must remain on the bottom.

A few may slip through the cracks via "entertainment" but even then.....

There can only be a limited amount dispensaries anyway we should be focused on cultivation , branding, and promotion. Let's own all the best products in those stores they wouldnt let us get. Less overhead required to breed vs running a Store and we already determine what's popular in America Culture

Same shyt in Massachusites. Is there a locale in America that actually pulled this off?

And, yes, I know they never wanted this to actually go to Black people.

I hear you breh, but white ppl are bigger consumers than we are simply because there's more of them.

To think that somehow black ppl were suddenly going to become large purveyors of the weed biz isn't really feasible.

Know why?

Because white ppl knew 1-2 years in advance in the states it was gonna be egalized and they began buying land for growing and d for building a grow nursery. So that once that law passed, they had everything in place to start selling within months.

I have a friend in Oklahoma who is an expert at growing. Like he's a genius at it. He worked as a partner for a dispensary and he ran their entire grow by himself. But they screwed him over basically with pay and so he quit....but as smart as he is, he can't start one on his own bc it requires so much money and resources to start. And more importantly, there's dispensaries every 10 feet
