Aight brehs, I thought that I might space these out over a few weeks or whatever (it's a lot to digest) but I'd rather just put them out there because not everyone's gonna be interested in everything. If you're feeling certain stuff, want more stuff from a certain artist etc. send me a msg & I can probably put something together.

enjoy

80's
General 80's Mix, some of my favorites from the decade

80's Dance

a couple of these would be a lot harder to find now than when specialized music blogs were exploding ~ 07/08. don't miss the version of 'Blue Monday' or 'The Walk', they're the best versions.

Chill

different genres, but I think of this one as a food prep, or hanging by the pool with a sunday hangover kind of grouping

just a side not, I remember back when the reason I downloaded the Brian Auger album was because of the awesome cover

Drive Inspired

is "Drive Inspired" based on the 2011 film? :gladbron:

exactly that

Early 00's

was going for that melding of dance & indie rock that was happening in the early 2000's. Songs 2-8 are a good representation of this IMO. Song 11 goes directly into 12, and the vocalist on 13 is the vocalist in the band in song 14, the contrast between the two songs is pretty interesting.

female vocalists

had to put this one up quick because @Zeu$ was stealing them all for his compilations :youngsabo:

major band favorites

a sampler of my favorite song from a grouping of some of the most famous bands

Misc. Rock

miscellaneous grouping of newer (7-8 years ago to present) rock songs, just for anyone curious to expand and look into some bands if they don't know where to start.

No Words

this compilation is pretty fukking great if I must say so myself. long walk, or headphones before you go to sleep type stuff.

Nostalgia Mix

grouping of songs that I grew up with, like K-8th grade compilation

Offbeat

Personal Classics

could write a paragraph about every song... a pretty good representation from the genres that I listen to aside from rap

Didn't see this thread, I'll add more artists.

Afghan Whigs/Twilight Singers: If you're having girl problems, this is the band for you.

Man, I was going to post one up as soon as I could but most of my music is physical CD's, it is a pain in the ass to come through and rip a bunch of single songs for a mix. I will get to it eventually, but I've been feeling lazy lately.

@Zeu$ I've made it through a few of your compilations. There's a good amount of crossover (crystal castles stuff, arcade fire, etc.)

got put onto:

Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation (had never checked out any of their music :shaq2:)

Deftones - Change (In the House of Flies) / iamamiwhoami - t / M83 - Don't Save Us from the Flames :dj2:

of course there's some stuff that just wasn't for me, but cool to give it a try. still have 2 compilations to go.

----------------

can anyone make a compilation that's like an intro to metal? I've never been that big into it.

couldn't name one pantera or metallica song :yeshrug: (had to google metallica to make sure I was spelling it correctly)

I like that Anthrax song Madhouse that was on GTA Vice City, haven't ever found the version that was in the game on mp3 that had the extended crazy guitar playing on the end of it. I liked 'Run to the Hills' but nothing else on that Iron Maiden album. also Judas Priest - Breaking the Law. more of those kinda songs?

80's thread getting pinned. so much potential in this thread (& loads of compilations already posted) but the audience doesn't seem to be there.
