Has any player had a “prime” this long?

Kareem is it, in the entire history of The League. In my opinion, Kareem's prime was 17 years, from the moment he hit The League until he finished #5 in MVP voting in Y17...

LeBron is right here with him and "if" he sustains an elite level of play next year, I think it will effectively be the longest we've ever seen anybody play at an elite, Top 10 in the game level...

Big "if" because playing that well in Y18 is literally unprecedented, and obviously we know he's lost a step or two, so logically I expect to see a lesser version of him next year. The question is how much less, if he can still play close to where he is today that'll be remarkable...

The "Decline" as many of you call it is actually happening but it doesnt look anything like what you expected or hoped it would look like

He is very clearly a few steps past his athletic zenith. His foot speed, stop and start, second jump etc is not the same.

However he picks his spots and conserves energy and it turns out very effectively. He generally takes smart shots and ramps up attacks in the paint as needed. He will post up more often.

Lebron gets the absolute maximum out of the money he spends on his body.
