Anonymous sources are horrible. They've always been around, but mostly to corroborate with other anonymous sources -- now in this 24-hour age, you have ONE unnamed source (who has nothing to lose because they aren't named) giving this information. Journalists are not supposed to give so much power to one source. You ever hear of Bernstein and Woodward and what they had to go through to confirm Watergate? Albeit sports news isn't so dire, but it should be treated with the same respect.

Anonymous sources should be a last resort. Reporters should challenge them to speak on record and if it's not possible, at least be 100 percent sure you're right ... and we've seen far too much "wrong" this offseason in particular.
