Well that's what I'm saying, there are so many other factors to look at. Saying his kids won't be as good as him because we haven't seen any NBA greats bested by their children is a poor argument. Saying his kids won't be as good as him because almost no one in history has been as good as him is a better argument. Children of average NBA players won't be better than LeBron either.
We are dealing with microscopic sample sizes here. Lavar's dumb ass is basically saying Iman Shumpert has a better chance of fathering an NBA superstar than LeBron, simply because his observation is that superstars come from marginal players but not from stars.
There are a handful of true stars. Thousands of NBA journeymen. Billions of people worldwide. It's simple math. But if you compare NBA stars to the general population, there is a much greater probability of NBA success.
Michael Jordan married a model and had kids that were smaller and nowhere near as gifted athletically. The pressure of living up to a successful father wasn't the problem. They still made it further in basketball than most but that was with only half of his DNA, if it was even his DNA at all
