Yeah, your top 3 guys are an old Bron, AD and DLo. There's no putting a band-aid on a broken leg.
What move/set of moves makes them a legit contender? Let's say they're able to keep most of what they have and add like Zach Lavine, are they a favorite to win the title? Not in my eyes

They should go get Trae. I’m sure JJ would have them lighting nikkas up with pin downs and flair screens all game long.
Defensively, Trae ain’t good but at least he’s better than Luka. As long as the help is near when he has a screen coming, they can hide him in other places. The past 6 years, the Lakers has been a good defense team for the most part.

You get Trae then you gut the team. He won’t fix their issues
They need Rui to take a leap defensively and rebounding, they need Austin to be more consistent on the defensive end, and they need a PG and a backup/starting big
That’s Murray and Capela but idk what you’d have to give up

Lebron is still a top 15 player in the league at 39 while other all time greats where a shell of themselves and a albetross to their basketball teams, it isnt brain surgery that you need to build pieces around an all nba player to increase your chance of success to win the championship
