They won the nba championship in 2004 against the Lakers and they lost in the finals against the Spurs in 2005 .

Except for 2004 and 2005, detroit wasn’t the final boss eliminator but actually the stepping stone for the 2003 nets, 2006 Heat, 2007 cavaliers and 2008 Celtics.
