Soldier
not redeemed with gold but with His Blood
First off, let me tell you I’m not a Bron fan. I’m a diehard raptors fan and I still resent him because of the Lebronto era. Those playoff humiliations still hurt.
But let’s be objective and honest here.
You can’t deny this fact-he was really the final boss of the eastern conference, as the leader and the best player of the Cavaliers and the Heat- he made the finals in 2007,11,12,13,14, 15,16, 17, and 2018.
He held the eastern conference final trophy 9 times.
9 NBA final appearances in 12 seasons.
He went to the finals during 8 straight years in the 2010s decade.
Since he went west in the summer of 2018 as a free agent and signed with the Lakers, no eastern conference team made the nba finals in back to back years. No eastern conference superstar player led his team to consecutive final appearances since 2018.
He played NBA final games, representing the eastern conference finalist team , in two different decades.
He beat every eastern conference team in the playoffs except the magic. He also never beat the Cavs and the Heat in the postseason(obviously )
He destroyed the championship aspirations, hopes and dreams of the 2006-07 nets, 2010-11 Bulls, 2014-15 bulls, 2011-2018 Celtics, the 2012-14 Pacers and 2016-2018 Raptors. He easily handled pretenders like the old ass 2013-14 nets, and the paper tigers 14/15 and 15/16 Hawks. He beat the usual first round punching bag teams like the 2006-2007-2008 wizards, 2009 pistons, 2013 bucks, 2014 hornets/bobcats, 2016 pistons, 2017 pacers. He beat the underrated, tougher than average first round opponents like the 2011 sixers and 2018 pacers. He beat a big market/glamour team like the NY Knicks two straight playoffs in 2011 and 2012.
The eastern conference was his personal playground. His own kingdom. He was really the final boss of the east, if you wanted to go the finals you had to go through Bron. No ifs and buts about it. He was so dominant, that’s why during the 2010s, the Heat and the Cavs were the only eastern teams who were nba finalists. The only eastern teams who beat bron in the playoffs during that era were experienced and talented veteran squads and they could only beat him in 2010 and earlier :
1. The 2006 defending eastern conference champion Detroit pistons(second round, 3-4 series loss, first ever playoff appearance of Lebron james career, the pistons with the same core made their 4th straight ECF that year and won the chip 2 years before )
2. The 2008 NBA champion Boston Celtics led by the talented big three of Garnett, pierce and Allen( 2nd round, 3-4 series loss)
3. The 2009 eastern conference champion/nba finalist Orlando magic led by Dwight Howard and Hedo Turkoglu(ECF, 2-4 series loss)
4. The 2010 veteran eastern conference champion/NBA Finalist Boston Celtics (2nd round, 2-4 series loss
That’s it. Between 2006 and 2018, only 3 eastern managed to defeat and eliminate bron in the eastern conference playoffs. These three teams beat him in the playoffs 4 times early into his career. 4 times only that teams led by Bron were eliminated by another eastern team. 4 times in 12 seasons. And this was from 2006-2010. He completely owned the east after 2010 as no eastern team eliminated his team in the playoffs after that ever again. That 2010 second round 6-game series loss to Boston was his last elimination inside the eastern conference playoff bracket. After that he made 8 straight final in the 2010s (2011 to 2018)
When he went west and signed with the lakers as a free agent in the summer of 2018, eastern contenders could breathe in relief and have hopes again-because Bron getting out of the east meant that the path to the finals would be easier than usual.
The 2010 Celtics and the 2019 raptors were the only non Lebron teams to make a finals from the east. And it was the first year and the last year of the 2010s decade. It was not an accident or coincidence. In the summer of 2010, he made the decision to sign with the Heat and in the summer of 2018, he made the decision to sign with the Lakers.
