Damn OP first Hov yesterday now Lebron today, whatever will they do with these failed Businesses. I wonder what flavor Ramon noodles Jay and Leborn have to eat today.

A lot of threads being posted attempting to bring down successful black men….

:patrice:

OP is a huge fan of Tone Talks whose major talking point is these people not being bosses, despite being richer than 99.9% of the population.

Twitter and Uber don't make movies, TV shows, nor documentaries. Most major production houses are losing money.
Clearly.

The point is those companies took years to turn a profit…hell Uber just turned its first profit this year after 15 years. OP wasn’t making posts shytting on and key-keying Uber’s financials.

It’s the principle.

If y'all wanna have a discussion on the broader macro economics of the entertainment industry…cool. But this thread is just a shytty move with “haha look at the Black man failing” vibes.

I feel you. I was trying to make a more apples to apples comparison to show that white-owned production houses are failing to turn a profit as well.

How the hell does a studio lose that much money every year :picard:
Netflex and the other streaming services were giving out deals like candy, especially during the DEI/BLM movement
Dude can't ask Kevin Hart or somebody to do a movie real quick and sell the shyt to Netflix or Prime?

They have 200 employees for what? That's a hell of an investment team tho. Maverick has to come up with at least one hit with Bron and that kind of team behind Springhill. Plus to establish himself as a guy who's where he's at not just because of his friendship with Bron, but his own savvy and work acumen.

The film industry is bleeding money at the moment and Doing a House Party remake which was one of the worst movies of all time is certainly not helping things. :mjlol:

I like the movie Hustle and Survivor's Remorse, but I imagine them not making any money at all.
A lot of traditional media is dying

The elephant in the room is that Mav has never really done anything noteworthy :yeshrug: Even that marketing company LRMR or whatever it was fukking called was really just some fluff hype. Rich Paul is the legit one in Bron's camp. Obviously Bron gave him the lob for Klutch but RP has built a hell of a client list and was a real hustler before he met Bron. Mav is just the childhood homie Bron is willing to lose money on
