I actually agree with the timing angle. Like with that Manti Teo scandal, that happened right after ND lost, perfect timing for a story like that as opposed if ND had won then it would look like the media has an agenda whether it be racial, sensational or whatever. And key people in the media knew about it way before the National Championship game.
I don't fully agree that could be the case with Lebron but the idea of it really isn't that far fetched.
