And there is the flaw in your argument, you just named a bunch of DEs, none of them are 6'8" and not all of them are 250+, and just how many of them are fluid enough athletically to play TE? You keep moving the goal posts fam, first it was Vernon Davis even though he's nearly half a foot shorter and weighs less, now you're saying that type of athleticism isn't rare even though you only named 7 people in a league of 1000+.

I get it you think football players are the best athletes in the world, but that doesn't make Bron's athleticism any less special, especially considering he's taller than everyone you named while being faster/heavier than some of them. It's not that rare in the NBA for someone to be 6"7+ 260 and athletic, it is rare for them to be coordinated enough to play on the wing.

It's NOT that rare in the NFL...

Defensive Ends and Linebackers in todays NFL have to be far more fluid and athletic than TE's... they have to have the strength/size to play on the line, the speed to chase down backs, and the agility to drop back into coverage.

even if you want to constrain it to the players who most closely fit LeBrons Height and Weight (cause being 6'8" in the NFL is very rare for anybody who's not an Offensive Lineman, and it's even rare for them).... Dion Jordan,Mario Williams,Jadaveon Clowney,Julius Peppers and Michael Johnson

at 6'6" 260....Dion Jordan is stronger and faster than LeBron.

at 6'7" 290... Julius Peppers is far stronger and about as fast as LeBron

at 6'7" 270....Michael Johnson is far stronger and just as fast as LeBron

at 6'6" 275... Jadaveon Clowney is far stronger and faster than LeBron.

at 6'7" 290....Mario Williams is far stonger, but slower than LeBron.

the only true athletic advantage LeBron would have over any them, is his leaping ability.

y'all keep trying to use the anomaly that LeBron is for basketball, and equate it with how he'd be as a football player.

We've seen Julius Peppers on a basketball court breh, and "fluid" wouldn't be the best choice of words to describe how he moved around on it :ld:

Again, 6'8" 260 and athletic isn't rare in the NBA either, the average NBA power forward is 6'8" 250lbs, however what is rare is when that 6'8" 260lbs can play on the perimeter. Blake Griffin is a similar athlete to LeBron, the difference is he doesn't have the coordination to play on the perimeter. If you put them in a combine together Blake would probably beat him in some categories in raw numbers, but when you see them moving around on a court Blake isn't nearly as fluid an athlete at roughly the same size.

And nowhere have I said he'd be great or even good, just that athletically if you compare him to TEs, he'd still be a special athlete especially when you take height into the equation.

LeBron runs a 4.6 which is fast for a 260 lb person playing basketball.... it's slow for a WR in the NFL.

TS really tried to say that Lebron is just as fast as Calvin Johnson

think in terms of football, not basketball.

lebron has never been weighed and his 40 has never been measured. Malone was 260 and was taller than him too, and hes alot bigger than him. He looks closer to 240

A 40" vertical on someone 6'3" isn't quite the same as a 40" leap on someone 6'8", just off simple math Bron's max vertical reach is in the 12'2"-12"4 range, that would probably be the highest in the NFL.

Just for the sake of scale, Russell Westbrook is the same height as Davis (obviously he's not as muscular) -

I don't think you're really taking into account how rare it is for someone to be his height + weight with his athleticism. And I don't think Bron is the greatest pure athlete of all time, he's in the discussion for it though (as far as team sports go).

you do realize nba measures up like crazy when it comes to height right? Most are usually an inch or two shorter than their listed height. Nate is 5'6. Amare aint 6'11

LeBron slow? No first step? Consider ...We've seen dozens of LeBron chasedown blocks ... but I don't remember ever seeing LeBron chased down ...

exactly

nikkas on here talkin bout Bron only being a 4.6 dude.....he ran that without any training.....these dudes train for that 40 on some olympic shyt.....I'd imagine if you put LeBron through that training so that he could get his start working right, he could knock that down to 4.45 EASY

plus LeBron has always been a runaway locomotive.....he continues to gain speed the longer he goes......watch those coast to coast fast breaks.....at first his speed is only average......then by the time he's past half-court he's leaving even PGs in the dust

I think Bron is one of those dudes whose 40 times would measure his true in-game speed because of his continuous acceleration.....think Usain Bolt.......both dudes have long strides and are slow starters.,.....but once they get going there ain't no catchin em

Nate was 5'7" 3/4th without shoes and 5'9" with them

Amare is 6'10" in shoes.

Draftexpress.com has measurement history.

nate admits hes 5'7 in shoes. Amare is alot shorter than duncan who is 6'11. Besides lebron has never had anything measured so thats a different story. Height, weight, vert, 40 time. Nada.

Oh word, so we have actual measurements on an impartial site and all you have is your word?

Here's a pic of Amare and Duncan together -

PHP480D5668062F1.jpg

Amare is 6'10" in shoes, Duncan is around 6'11" in shoes.

And LeBron was measured for the NBA combine, he just didn't do the physical stuff, he was 6'7" 1/4th without shoes, 7"0 wingspan and 245lbs at 18.

Pic is from a horrible angle. Amare's knees are higher up than duncans and duncan is slouching. Besides you just proved lebrons vert has never been measured. His 40 has never been measured. And there is no point mentioning the impartiality of websites, they just list the numbers the nba send them. ESPN, draftexpress they just report what they are sent. NBA players are known to add an inch or two to their heights. Hakeem was 7 ft, he admitted he was a little under 6'11. And he looks a legit 7 ft

NFL players are measured shoeless. Their height is to the closest 1/4 inch. Their verts and 40s are recorded for everyone to see. A website or actual video footage? come on

what the fukk are you even saying breh?

Usain Bolt? why are you comparing the fastest man on the planet, to a person who's not even the fastest player in the NBA?

:russ: First you said Amare was "ALOT" shorter than Duncan, now you're talking about angles and slouching, Amare was measured at 6'10" in shoes, what is so difficult to understand?

Also, It doesn't take a genius to guesstimate how high LeBron jumps, his head has been rim level or slightly above on many dunks, he's between 6'8" and 6'9" in shoes, the rim is 120" high for LeBron to get his head to the rim it requires bare minimum for him to be 40" up.

.......Draftexpress has representatives at the combine watching the entire thing from measurements to the tests, fam you're talking out your ass right now.

:dead:@ bu but he afraid to get hit. Basketball aint a contact sport, guys don't expect to get tackled in the open floor. It's a lot different than being padded, knowing you're out there to hit or get hit.
