Here’s a little known fact….Magic was guarded mostly by Mike not Scottie

Ankle injuries by Worthy and Byron slowed them down too much to have a chance. Bulls we’re too hungry

I’m a Lakers fan, Magic did well to even get them that far but us winning game 1 was akin to A.I. winning game 1 against Kobe and Shaq. A vastly inferior team with a great player stealing one game. The Bulls were in zero danger of losing that series.

Funnily enough, if Pippen doesn’t shoot like complete shyt they probably don’t even lose game 1 :mjlol:

Blazers were supposed to go back the Finals that year anyway but LWO upset them in the Western conference Finals

Magic went off game 3-5 and game 5 was without Worthy and when Pippen guarded Magic, it was key possessions which is why Pip got the credit in games 3-4. Game 5 didn't matter as LA was extremely outmatched without Worthy. Nice try but I watched all 5 of the games in that series

Truth is, that was a weak Laker squad, with or without Worthy

Laker fan too (Earv my GOAT) but that AI comparison was spot on. Worthy hurting his ankle and Byron fukked up shoulder. We was outmatched

Ive been wanting to post this video. Jordans 1-9 record with some context.

Below are some excerpts and stats from games where Mike and Scottie played together in some important playoff series. this was before they won any titles.

89 ECSF, GAME 6 VS KNICKS

Pippen was ejected at the end of the 3rd quarter.
Bulls are a 6 seed team vs 2 seed Knicks.
Without Pippen, MJ drops 12–2–3–1–2 in only the 4th quarter, and the game-winning FTs to get the Bulls in the ECF for the first time in history.

’89 ECF VS PISTONS

Jordan shutdown Isiah in the series to 39% FG.
MJ carried them to 2 wins vs Pistons.
no other team beat them once in the playoffs.
Pippen had a poor 10–7–3 on 40% for the series, while Jordan had to shut down the best player, Isiah, and with Pippen disappearing they lose.

’91 FINALS GAME 3 VS LAKERS

People bring up one game where Pippen did good D on Magic, but forget this.
Pippen fouled out in Game 3 with 10 secs left, Bulls down 2.
Without Pippen, Jordan nails the game tying shot, and causes the deflection on the next possession to force OT.
Jordan leads the Bulls on a 14–4 run after Pippen fouls out, and scores or sets up 12 of their 14 pts.
Without Pippen, Jordan shuts down Magic to 0–0–0 on 0/2 FG and steals a turnover from Magic in the OT to take the 2–1 series lead.

I used to play this game where if I saw Scottie's book in a store, I would read a random page, and there was a 80-90% chance Scottie was hating/being petty/putting the blame on someone else. I'm serious, try it. It's fun, but really sad.

People keep trying to use stats & basketball logic to discuss what Scottie said, when we all know this really has nothing to do with basketball. This is an emotional, deep rooted issue.

Yeah, it was mainly just game 2 when Pip guarded Magic. He did a terrific job.

MJ still guarded Magic for the majority of the series. He did reasonably well, but was too small to defend Magic in the post and Magic would have success there. Magic’s passing skills were otherworldly.

The Bulls were younger, healthier, just plain better. MJ was putting up over 30 and 10 a game on good efficiency, Pip was playing great, Paxson was seemingly hitting every open jumper.

scottie was one game away from taking the bulls to finals without MJ.

MJ never won anything without scottie.

he has probably forgotten more about basketball than anyone on the coli knows.

:hubie:
Pip lost to the Knicks in the semi finals.
You don’t even know what you are talking about :mjlol:

and not just that, but its crazy how underrated a passer Jordan is. another fun fact about MJ, he is second to Magic Johnson in highest assist per game in the finals in league history.
