Kareem on the 73-74 Bucks put up 32/16/5 over a 16 game stretch in 73-74/ His team lost in the finals. That's 704, 320 110 over a 22 game stretch (amount of games LeBron has played so far.)

Oscar Robinson was on pace to do it in 70-71 en route to a finals victory.

Main thing holding them back from hitting those numbers is there were only 3 rounds in the playoffs instead of the 4 we have now.

Hakeem was one rebound shy of doing it in 94-95. Main thing holding him back was the first round was only 5 games back then. Give him another first round game he easily hits it. Same with bird in 83-84, could have done it, but did not get a 7 game series in first round.

I believe we've only had the best of 7 with four rounds playoff format since 2003. So this stat is deceiving. Harder to hit this when it doesn't take 16 wins to get a ring like it does now.

Sort of like how BErnie Williams of the Yankees owns all of these playoff records because of the extra rounds they added to the playoffs.

Basically. This stat is only credible for 2003 to present. Still impressive but not as impressive as trying to act like it's valid for the entire history of the NBA. Just people twisting numbers.

We need that ESPN made up stat thread back.

Big whoop. He been getting props from the start, ever since he accomplished nothing. Called a KING even.

Just half kidding, he been got his accolades now and a championship will be that icing on the cake!

Not looking it up but Kobe had to have gotten those numbers after all those damn playoff series.

Edit: nm 100 assists is way too much for Kobe now that I think about it

Edit 2: he actually did get the assists. It was the rebounds that got him. He wasn't even close to 200.

These are the kinds of arbitrary stats that don't mean a whole lot. He would not have put these numbers IF THE HEAT HAD CLOSED OUT SERIES BETTER. They should have swept the first two rounds and beaten the celts in 6 max.
