Time to retire as he is averaging 25, 7 and 7..leading everyone for the all star game votes and still the most popular guy in the league when it comes jersey sells and everyone knows when he sits the Lakers almost always are negative..

Probably cause of how often players come and go. Average career is like 3-5 years give or take. And it’s only like 450ish players in a year so that adds up a lot.

Expansion.


When Kareem came into the league, there were 14 teams.
When Lebron came in, there were 29 teams.
League had more than doubled in size by the time Bron came around from when Kareem started.

And if you go even earlier, the league was 8 teams when Oscar Robertson came in.

Because a lot of those guys playing in 2003 were playing for a long time before then

But the big thing is the league was much smaller in terms of # of players in the early years.
