I think they said he changed the game. They used to block the defensive end with a rb but couldn't with Taylor. That why teams started drafting left tackles at a more higher clip. Especially in NFC east

Even linebacker is too specialized to compare properly. Think about what his responsibilities were on defense compared to a guy like Ray or Singletary or Derrick Brooks. Totally different role.

I think when talking about the greatest players of all time in football, you have to remove quarterbacks from the discussion. The impact of a Hall of Fame quarterback far surpasses the impact of any other position.
Putting quarterbacks aside, I absolutely see how one would rank him as the greatest. There are some other players I would have up there, but most of us here aren't old enough to have seen the prime of certain all-time greats.

The playing field goat is Montana.
