I admire his honesty and he reminds of my dad, although my dad was a tad stricter (a total authoritarian). As a father, when it comes to black boys, you just have to always be direct with them, when it comes to the harsh realities of life. Leave all that cuddling/hope tales to their moms.
Once you're able to sieve some of the few outlandish things LaVar says from time to time, you can't hate on the man. He's a very likeable man and he embodies LA like no other. The only knock on him IMO is the fact that his kids are only dating white chicks and they're one generation removed from losing their blackness. He needs to find a way to make them procreate exclusively with only black women.
