nah, bruh. she is hurting.

she may be hurting. i don't doubt that. a lot of people get hurt, and they lash out in ways that are erratic and clearly designed to elicit some kind of reaction from those who take notice.

marley broke her heart, and a lot of people don't come back from that without a lot of therapy. but that doesn't mean she's "crazy" or suffering from "mental illness." it's not just a coincidence that this behavior began to appear after her issues with marley.

maybe she is "crazy," but i think it's too soon to say that.

I see mentally ill people around me everyday, walking around freely. I see them sometimes on TV, too, but held up to celebrity status.

But it all comes down to what society and psychologists redefine as psychologically ill. Back in the day, a slave wanting to be free was considered a mental illness. Believing in a god was deemed psychologically sane, as was believing in certain conspiracies. Now-days, people call believing in a god irrational and almost any conspiracy theory, crazy.

Still, some times the signs are more obvious in some than others. You get socio and psychopaths holding their nutty butter on the low, with all their friends and family thinking they're charming geniuses. I've seen that ****.

Artists and celebrities go through some if the same issues and illnesses regular people go through. They are microcosm of society. Marvin Gaye suffered from mental illness, mainly depression and drug abuse. He attempted suicide 3 times before being killed by his own father :sadcam:

I just don't think it's good for an artist to perform when they are in that state of mind. She needs some real help. Britney Spears got it and is doing a lot better now.

Does anyone know what truly happened to her? She's been unstable since that Marley relationship. Was that the cause?

didn't wyclef more or less admit that it was him? he treated her like a jumpoff and that messed with her head.

I'm not sure, I'm asking y'all. I know her and Clef went back and forth, but she didn't really fall off the map until her and Marley started getting serious with it.

well, as far as i remember, her relationship with wyclef ended and after the carnival came out, he was celebrated as this musical genius behind the fugees. so lauryn, who was still hurting from their relationship, tried to one up him with the miseducation and prove that she was the better musician. it worked out initially, but then she was sued by some session musicians or producers, who claimed that they had ghostproduced the majority of her album. that is what caused her to turn her back to the music industry. it is also why she insisted on doing that dreadful mtv unplugged concert all by herself, even though she had barely started to learn the guitar and knew only one or two chords. which is why all of her mtv unplugged songs sound the same. this is when people first started questioning her sanity and started to poke fun at her. as a result, she went into seclusion.

hooking up with that marley dude probably wasn't the smartest idea with her backstory, but i'm not sure that that is what drove her over the edge. it might have been more of a symptom rather than the cause of her problems.
