late registration only gets better with time. could it be the best hip hop album of the 2000s?

this is 1 of those albums that over time has only gotten even better to me
i can remember buyin' it when it 1st came out and while i liked it, i didn't like it nearly as much as i do today
ye stepped it up with the lyrics, the production was polished and the features were a who's who of artists
i knew the music from this album was special when my dad was recordin' "gold digger" on a tape recorder, lol
my dad is old school (james brown & the temptations) and not easily impressed but that song is a favorite of his
another thing i appreciate about the album is how it's got 21 tracks and not a single 1 of em' are filler. all classic

i was listenin' to this album earlier last week and i remembered that it came out back in 05'
i can't believe it's been over 10 years since this was released! where has the time gone?!

it would be nice to go back and see all of the sessions for this album but here's some video footage from those sessions

and the samples he used were golden!

fukking dead at this soft ass, cocksucking, delusional stan syphilislines so distraught over the GOAT our Flow Lord and Lyrical Savior Hova Da Gawd making Kangay's entire post-WTT career irrelevant with the verse of the year on ATWU Remix he's now hitting the drugs so hard it got him suggesting that god awful musical abomination Late Emasculation aka Fake (Lyricist) Registration is even remotely close to even the GOAT our Flow Lord and Lyrical Savior Hova Da Gawd's worst verse off Unfinished Business

What's even funnier is the GOAT our Flow Lord and Lyrical Savior Hova Da Gawd's feature is the only redeemable thing about that weedplate as is the case with every brick factory from Kangay Zest aka Prostate Monche aka Sticky Anal-Fingaz aka Bruce Bruce Jenner aka Tranye aka Kimye Kartrashian aka Koonye aka Zzzeeus aka Yawnye Zzzest

Late Registration is highly dope... but nah.

Fishscale >>

Cuban Linx 2 >>

Madvillainy >>

The Unseen >>

i love the wu but fishscale and cuban linx 2 better than late registration? naw, not in my book :ld:
both those albums are borin' compared to late registration IMO
the beats and production on both madvillainy and the unseen are great but i think the songs on late registration are far better overall

Crazy timing on the thread.

Was just listening to it earlier tonight, thinking it's gotten better with time. Easily my favorite Kanye album. I appreciate it way more today than I did back then. And I loved it back then! We took joints like this for granted. Such a classic.

great minds think alike! :myman:
i was listenin' to it earlier last week, tuesday. sun was out and i was like "lemme pop this in for old time's sake" :blessed:

yeah, it's crazy. when this album came out, i was still stuck on the college dropout and all of ye's mixtapes that came out before college dropout
so like you, i liked late registration for the very beginnin'
but i didn't come to really appreciate even more until more time passed by and i kept goin' back to it over time and it continued to impress me
and now 11 years later, it still sounds even better then ever
with this album it's like ye intercepted the ball (hip hop), ran as fast as he could (worked to his full potential) and scored a touchdown with this album :banderas:
