It's a fairly interesting show b/c of the way they treat the gang in the show. I'm kind of surprised that people look at TV shows and say they aren't realistic. Wouldn't most shows be boring as hell if they were super realistic?

Aside from the fifth season plot, didn't The Wire conquer that?

It's my favorite show on tv...over Game of Thrones, Walking Dead and Breaking Bad even. Those are the top four for me and they're all madd close, but I like Sons over everything.

I knew that was coming and I agree. Literally, that is 1 TV show though. If there are some other good ones that you know of please enlighten me so I can catch up :myman:.

In general TV/Movies are about entertainment though. It's haaaard to entertain with straight up realism.

I think generally the problem is that a show will try to start off as fairly realistic with an original idea. Then in order to sustain the initial success & interest generated, the writers need to come up with more incredible and of course less realistic storylines & plots.

This is usually the gripe fans of a show have. Writers can't continue to come up with great ideas & stories outside of the initial great idea that started the showoff without going over-the-top with it.

To me this is what makes Mad Men the best written show currently on TV today. The 1st season and every following season were so great to the point, you didn't think the writers could improve on it, but somehow they continue to do so without going off the deep end.

I don't really consider those shows to be comparable for a few reasons. Mad Men is a show that is strictly based on tension/drama. SOA is based on action/drama. Action shows tend to hit those :childplease: moments well before it is needed in a straight up drama.

I like Mad Men but I think they need to wrap it up soon. Last season was a little tough for me to power through.
