I mean it's not all about the equipment but creativity.

There's beat makers that just use FL studios. Hell, Madlib made most of his tracks on a iPad. Right now, I'm just using a SP404 with Audacity and Reaper on a crappy laptop.

It's all in the creative nature. If you have a musical passion, you can make anything out of anything.
Breh I got an MPC Live 2, Korg Triton Rack, Korg 01W and the keyboard that took me to the next level: Ensoniq EPS 16+ :wow:

I'm definitely going to my research
Where do you usually go for deals?
I usually hit up Reverb mostly and sometimes eBay (after having to buy 2 EPSs cause the first didn’t work :beli: but it was a blessing in disguise cause the second one I bought had the ram expansion which increases sample time and the seller was selling it at a stupid low price cause he didn’t have the boot disk for it)

Reverb is cool if you want shyt tested and working right when it comes to you. eBay is cheaper but you’re taking a gamble especially if shyt hasn’t been serviced for issues. I got lucky on eBay, but I prefer Reverb cause the folks there take extra care of you and usually 9/10 times the gear you buy WILL work without any extra bs cause it’s usually been serviced/repaired/refurbished before they listed it (which is also why it’s so expensive at times :dead:)

Breh I'm trying to avoid the temptations of being a gear slut, but the marsupial needs a synthesizer :noah:
Breh you gotta get one! I was the same way only wanting to use my Live 2 originally when I got back into making beats, but I bit the bullet first with the 01W and they all started pouring in after that. Over time I ended up with a lot of equipment I got mad deals on (and sometimes got over on the seller cause they didn’t know what they had and was hot when they realized they could’ve sold it for way more if they realized how rare some of that shyt is :dead:)

That EPS 16+ is :noah: I became a believer in the Ensoniq magic using it as my main weapon of choice. Now I wanna get an ASR-10 :dead:

Also: if you wanna go the computer route, Splice does the Rent-To-Own on a lot of popular plugins/DAWs for pretty fair monthly payments and it’s yours to keep when you pay it off :wow:

That’s how I got Korg’s Vintage Collection, Korg’s Opsix Native and Wavestate Native, Serum, Bitwig Studio, and other shyt

There’s a place you can get a nice set of plugins/DAWs. I got Ableton Live Studio from there :youngsabo:

It’s a godsend for Mac apps :wow:

Guitar Center:sas2:
I like Guitar Center (the employee used his employee discount and some other shyt and I walked out of there with an Open Box-Excellent condition MPC Live 2 for $550 when they normally retail for $1200 :wow:), but I been getting more vintage gear so Reverb and eBay are pretty much the best bets for vintage stuff
