If you enjoyed Eternal Sunshine then I also recommend "Mr Nobody" and "Synecdoche New York"
More people should watch this movie. I am not sure why, but I have this and Vanilla Sky tied together in my mind for some reason.
I think its the inevitable regret at the end is what links them for me.
The movie starts off freshoff of a mindwipe. That[s why he hasnt had a journal post in 2 years, doesnt know thee darling clementine song, and something tells him to go to momtauk which are the last words she says to him before she disappears at the beach huose
the trippy visuals give the film rewatchability to me, but it's sort of an emotionally draining film but when they're going through all of Joel's memories the movie gets pretty psychedelic (reminds me of lucid dreaming) which is engaging when you're stonedloved it..but it lacks replay to me.. i can never get through subsequent viewings for some reason
kinda find it that way with all the flicks dude wrote

Also, I find it interesting how the circumstances of a first viewing can alter your love for a film, for example, with Eternal Sunshine I had no prior knowledge of the film before I watched it other than the simple fact that I heard it was a decent movie. I was in highschool when I watched it, and by chance I happened to be watching TV and noticed the film was about to come on one of the movie channels, hit info and saw that Jim Carrey was the main actor in it, and decided to give it a go. I was enraptured by the film and couldn't look away, was totally engrossed the entire time and I hadn't seen a good Jim Carrey movie in forever, it was also cool to see him in a non comedic role. I love catching films and TV like that, out of no where, just happened to be there at the right moment. That same situation also happened with the season premiers of Game of Thrones and Dexter. Had no idea what either show was about and literally caught it randomly on the night of the premier. I love watching films while on cannabis, it seems to amplify my thoughts/emotions and I get "into" the movie way more. Caffeine and Weed is a glorious combination for viewing films. You gotta be in a certain mood for kaufman films imo..but i can imagine they are amazing high.. i havent been high in years and years though
I don't remember that part, was it Sam or Patrick that said it? And do you think Sam got Kirsten Dunst the same way Patrick got Clementine? It clicked a lot for me when he said I can never meet a nice girl. Maybe I should get back with Naomi and when he ditched work to catch the train to Montauk twice in the flick.
Jim Carrey was in this. has me wanting to give boring ass The Majestic and Man on the Moon another shot.
Have to watch Synecdoche again, by the end of it I wasIf you enjoyed Eternal Sunshine then I also recommend "Mr Nobody" and "Synecdoche New York"
