Lol @ being a goof in a wig being relatable. The barometer for being “talented” is so fukking low these days, just wow

Bro, this is the get clout quick generation. Nobody is trying to grind for a decade plus while going around doing open mics for free, followed by doing like 50 dollar paid gigs, until they get the nuances of reading a room and tailoring jokes/bits to an audience. Most of the modern comedians have 1 set they put together that they hope hits which puts them on a TV show/movie. Comedy is just a vehicle for average/unique looking actors at this point. There will always be Eddie savant type dudes who are a amazing at 17 but the days of guys grinding like Rock, Chappelle and most of the other guys who got on later in life may soon be over.another issue is so many movies across genres have made general stars funny while there are very few standout real comedians... going back to my black shyt, you had chris tuckr, martin, chappelle (tho not a huge star until the 00's), bernie, hughley, harvey, ced, rock, jamie foxx (dude was a hilarious standup to me), murphy, plus a bunch of popular second tier comedians (earthquake, lavelle, fiazon, epps, sommore, bill bellamy etc) who could hold down movies, now the only people being labeled comedians are a bunch of pedestrian IG "comedians", half of whom rely on cross dressing or playing a particular "character"....where are the star comedians (with acting chops)?
I’ve kept the same energy, dig up thread on black comics cross dressing and I’ve been against it.keep that same energy breh

But what speeches them is, those comics played that role as one of their many characters. These IG people are straight madea, that’s all they have, in addition to being no where near as funny.
No, many of y’all simply have a low barrier for annointing talent. This is evidenced by the vast number of untalented people in various fields of entertainment based on nothing other than their SM following. Furthermore, if these people weee actually talented they’d rise up from simply being an IG accountthat's not true at all but you're just out of touch.
This is really what it is, across damn near every form of performing arts these days - comedy, acting, music - people have grown up in the “shortcut” generation where SM follows = success, no one hones their craft anymoreBro, this is the get clout quick generation. You’re completely off base, another poster already pointed out how comedy is something that needs to be honed by performing and getting love feedback, not cheap likes. and moving up doesn’t mean moving away, it means having an actual career that rivals that of great comedians, just cuz the format changed doesn’t mean the impact does. these random IG people (not all, but most) are not true talents, they’re flavor of the year shyt, it’s been that way since YouTube first got popping.cause people have never gotten in the spotlight because of nepotism or simply knowing the right people and still were mediocre.
and the bold is simply just not the case, a lot of people don't have to nor should they have to move out of their community to LA or NY when they can and continue to create content in their own backyard that can reach those people
if anything the old guard of the entertainment world is just allowing themselves to be passed on by because they don't wanna help nurture the next generation of content creators.

They don’t have the range...your words...yet then you have a problem with me calling them out on not being talented. Are you an IG comedian or some shyt?so....once again, not everybody has the access or the range, time to be able to do just that
why you so quick to demean or take away their ability is the crazy part
I pay 6 a ticket .... matinee is cheapMovie tickets are too expensive these days so I only go see the big movies or indie flicks that really appeal to me.
