I'd like to argue that the types of people that say "No need to buy ___ now I'll just get it on PC" weren't likely to buy what they said no need to buy anymore anyway.

Putting your games on PC doesn't hurt console sales because the types of people that only game on a console aren't looking to buy the game on PC and the type of people that buy the game on PC either already have your console anyway or weren't gonna buy the console in the first place.

Bottom line is more money for the game publisher.

Not true. Atleast not for me. I’ve always been notorious for having every console.

Oh it's true. Exclusive games appearing on PC aren't going to suddenly convert console gamers to PC gamers because most console gamers favor playing games on a console and the opposite is true for most serious PC gamers. Being a serious PC gamer takes a level of knowledge and even troubleshooting ability that most console gamers won't wanna bother with.

I'd also argue that if you're the type of gamer that owns all the consoles you're part of a niche group. I'm saying this as a gamer that owns a PS4 Pro, Xbox One X, Switch and a gaming PC with a 2080ti and 9900K. I find much of my playtime on the Switch and PS4Pro. There's no good way to divide playtime up between every console to make all the purchases worthwhile. I've hardly used my Xbox One X at all for example. It was a waste of money.

Most people aren't buying all those systems for that exact reason. You'll end up spending more time on 1 or 2 of them and the rest will sit more often than not.

:yeshrug: I play JRPGs and Fighters, so I'm not going to magically get rid on console because of a port.

if it does release on PC, it wont be Day 1 as the ps4/ps5 release. Probably looking at 2-3 years down the road.
Just like Horizon came out in 2017 , and now is when we hearing talks about a PC port.

More than likely. It's a smart move. Put it out on the PS5 first and wait till the sales calm down then port it over. I think they waited too long for Horizon. Once they start dropping the price on the console version port it to PC at full price.
Then ported to ps5
That's almost a given considering that happened with the last game.

If Sony and Microsoft go PC with "Console exclusives" and have no original unique offers for their platforms.
I'm outta the console game.

As an ex-Pirate I never pirated for price. I pirated because I was broke and couldn't really afford to buy shyt. The moment my income reached a level where I could afford the things I wanted the pirating ceased. The people that can afford to buy and want to support the developer will buy it. Many of the people that pirate aren't legit customers to begin with.

What are u saying all of this to me for? U are literally repeating to me the exact reasons why I would stick with PC if there’s no exclusives. If there’s no exclusive content on these consoles. It gives me LESS incentive to own all consoles like I usually do. So ultimately I will be gaming on my PC which will be more powerful than both consoles. And my Nintendo Switch. Xbox One X was TOO light on the exclusives this gen. So I bought multiplats strategically this gen to justify having all consoles.

This is fine. They don’t make much money off hardware sales, sometimes they lose money. For someone like you that’s only going to buy a couple exclusives and play the rest on PC they actually make more money on you just buying their games on PC, especially if they can get you to subscribe to PSN, PSNow, Gamepass, etc.

I try to split it up. I get some games on PC. Some games on Xbox, Some games on PlayStation.
