I only go there to enjoy the weather, fukk light-skinned mamis with big butts and party...outside of that its useless as a country

shameful the way these dominic00ns treat haitians, scust

escaping harsh winters by going to carribean resorts >>>>

DR is a literal shythole but its a tolerable shythole because as a tourist you just enjoy the perks of that country for a limited period without experiencing the negative aspects of living there

cant imagine living fulltime there.
I thought there are no local chicks on the resorts?

Receptionist at hotel I was staying at was a breh that could speak Russian, son said his name is “Vladimir”. First time I saw a black man with that name. Owners were Russian, I saw them pulling up in a Porsche and calling the Vlad breh a couple of times to the parking lot.
You dont watch baseball?

Well-to-do Dominicans stay on the island from what I've heard.

Generally, life for elites in middle-income countries is better than almost anywhere else - so long as there's political stability.

Their money goes much farther at home because of all the cheap, easily exploitable labor and low property prices. Middle-income countries typically have a huge pool of folks from the hinterlands that are still living in abject poverty...they end up becoming servants, maids, drivers, etc.

Big fish, little pond. Again, it works only because of DR's (relative) political stability. If that ever changes...I'd expect an influx of upscale Dominicans.

Great post, as a Caribbean breh I've been wondering why this was.

Why do you think such degenerate shyt goes on there when they arent that poor compared to other islands?

I don’t know any successful Dominican in America who moved back to the DR.

Just saying!

Russians in the Dominican Republic?!!?:ohhh:

Yeah. a breh posted a video above.

It’s a lot of Russians here.

The place where I was staying was owned by Russians, and it’s like a complex of vacation suites and lofts and they had 3 different “hotels” registered to the same address so I’m thinking it’s some kind of money laundering. “Sol Caribe”, “Tropicana Deluxe” and I forgot the name of the 3rd hotel that was registered there. They would pull up is Porsche’s to check up on things. They have a breh that said his name is “Vladimir” running the place and he would report to them (every time I think of a black man named Vladimir it cracks me up, but the nikka spoke Russian). They also had a Russian lady that stayed in the reception of another hotel across the street come check up on things every now and then and she would substitute for the breh when he wasn’t around (which means the hotel across the street was under their umbrella too)

On that...the only thing I can think of is that although DR is a middle-income country (per-capita GDP), they've got some pretty extreme income inequality.

Off the top of my head I think they've got the highest GINI coefficient in the Caribbean...

Sorry for late reply, I’m at the airport and the WiFi here is crazy patchy.

If you in a tourist area/restaurant/beach you better off speaking English. and yeah depending on how you dressed they will know you not from here/Haitian. Everywhere I went they knew I wasn’t from here and I had a bunch of brehs trying to sell me shyt. Had this phat ass fine chick literally pull my left arm, even though I had my other arm over my shorty, to whisper in my ear “I got good weed”. My girl was like to her “no no no no, you not about to do that” then she just laughed and said “these bytches crazy”. Now that I think about it, I had like 3 or 4 instances of women trying to sell me weed. But yeah, from the way you dress they can tell, and will literally swarm you, their hustle is non-stop. I guess cause the OG been here for a while he said you should just speak English anyway, he also said not to wander to far from the tourist area.

I’d also say learn the local currency/exchange rates but if you using dollars, you better off asking for change in dollars too. I met a couple from North Carolina, old heads, said they been here for a week, they said they got finessed for their change until they got home and checked the exchange rates, so they started demanding change in dollars, some stores were like “no, we only give change in pesos” so the lady was like “ok I’m not buying then”, and the store people changed up quick and sent a boy to go get change in dollars. Also, this North Carolina couple said it’s cheaper to do Airbnb than hotel, I don’t know how true it is, we stayed at a hotel 3 minutes walk from the beach, but the couple were staying at this Villa that was right on the beach.

Also, the wolves can tell if you’re a square or not, best to act like you know the place even if it’s your first time here. be regular but don’t be p*ssy, if nikkas keep tryna sell you shyt tell em nah I’m good. chopped it up with this dope boy said his name was “Franklin” gave me a business card and said “anything you need I gotchu, cars, property, girls, meditation (drugs) lemme know, if you wanna go cocobongo (a club here), hit me up first and I’ll set you up nice”. Dude was driving a nice car, and spoke English better than your average local.
"meditation" :dead::russ:

I don’t understand this. I know more Haitian diasporans that do better than Dominican diasporans. All of the Haitians I know are white collar and upscale. The Dominicans work service sector jobs and are blue collar. Like Dominicans are not even seeing Haitians in terms of success in the States. But that could also just be my area.
Actually it makes perfect sense why the Haitians get shyt on in DR. The successful Haitians that you are talking about are those that were able to escape Haiti. Haiti's brain drain is pretty bad sicne you have a lot of Haitian engineers, doctors etc. leaving the Island. The Haitians that can't afford to leave the Island immigrate to DR for a better life. They get shyt on by DR because Haiti is doing poorly economically:yeshrug:. Also, Haitians used to have control over DR back in the day so some Dominicans held that hate in their heart :picard:.

There are far more wenches than black men dating out all over the world but people only focus on black men. Third world hoes throw themselves for old white cacs in most black/brown countries but no one talks about this. Hoes use their crouch to get what they want and get a greencard but It’s all bu bu bu Michael B Jordon and Todd Gurley :mjlol:
maybe you aren't aware that there are black men and boys selling their bodies to old white men as well...it's all about survival. Hell more black men are starting to go to these countries for the same reason the old white men do.
