I listen to everything all the way through, regardless of genre. I don't feel I can accurately review or digest an album until I listen to it as it was put together. Sadly the iTunes generation is more interested in songs than albums, and I can't blame them: that's how music is sold and marketed today. Back in the day, nikkas studied hip hop (and other genres too). You had to know your shyt so you could properly argue stuff respectfully. Now of days you got nikkas and cacs dikk riding Biggie but only heard Big Poppa, Juicy, etc. :comeon:

Lemme explain how bout this life I am: I listened to Soulja Boy Tellem from start to finish. I was teaching my cousin how to drive and she kept playing the single; literally she popped the disk in, skipped to the song, and when it ended would push the back button to play it again. I stopped her and listened to that shyt front to back. shyt was scustin, and even she agreed. Now she listens to Drake and Wayne, but at least I got her into vintage Jay-Z and even Big L :win:

i listen to all my ishs all the way thru, since it takes me about an hour to get to work

but you're making a good point. i think this is why the word 'classic' is so overused on here, when they're judging an album based on the few joints selected that they like

Basically. It's okay to delete songs, add songs, or make your own playlist after you heard the album in it's entirety, but you have to judge it solely on how it was created and sent out. Even if something is hot garbage I try to make it through the album

i really gotta listen to that album properly. i never gave it the time of day because it wasn't a prime Wu release back in the day
