Yea. Atlanta doesn’t need any of our vets when they’re actively tanking. It’d have to be teams like Minny or Indiana who could use some Vet help. Indy even has cap space but i doubt they want Courtney Lee who’s realistically the best chip I’m willing to part with.
Knicks ain't getting no picks for vets. Most teams trying to shed salary. LAC aint open to trading either 12/13. It's going to be tough for teams to shed salary this year. Cap space will be a premium this year.

If Kanter opts out, we'll have some cap space to offer up. He's been fifty-fifty about it and he's my least favorite Knick so I'm praying he opts out and our options open up. I agree that cap space is gonna be the big value this year, teams finally seem like they've sobered up from the big cap increases.

No they won't. Kanter only want to opt out with a deal in place with the Knicks. There is still a chance the new deal won't be done before the draft. Kanter ain't trying to test the market. He just wants a new deal with the Knicks for long term and less salary. You really trying to overthink it but in reality. Your hands in tied on that front.

These dudes need to chill rushing KP back, don’t be playing with serious injuries like that no matter how good it seems to be healing. Talking bout a 9 month turnaround from that injury to back playing again:francis:
no incentive to rush kp back whatsoever
im cool if he doesnt play a second next year

Gotta get him away from that quack trainer. Having your own personal trainer is fine but that guy just seems like a sleazeball :hhh:

KP needs a better posse

I'm just waiting for Kanter to do something before I try to read his mind. I feel like overthinking would be making any assumptions as opposed to just waiting for his decision to pick a strategy.

Only annoying thing about it would be the NY media (already circling like sharks with the Dolan and Clyde comments). My preference is KP comes back late in the season on a minutes limit to get his feet wet and shake off some rust without having enough time to hurt our draft prospects but I'm good with him sitting out. Whatever lines us up with a top five pick is the side I'm on.

I dunno. Sexton and Young have much higher ceilings than Mikal. In my YouTube research, I found Miles athleticism to be more impressive than Mikal and if I'm not mistaken is just as good a shooter? I'd rather draft talent than a long term role player if at all possible. If we get one of the guards we gotta move Mudiay. Sumn gotta give. Surely we can convince someone he's worth a low first rounder?? He's a former lottery pick and under 25 right??

yep last season should be a lesson Frank is a good player but coming into the draft ppl said his upside was basically a rich man's George Hill. Thats a good player but not a player you take in the lottery when other players have way more upside. Less than a year later they ready to move on at the PG.

pick the best player with the best upside
knicks gotta swing for homerun

Teams with multiple picks is all I'm looking at for the time being. Our options for trade offers change depending on that Kanter contract. I'm really hoping we get a chance to eat a contract and pick up an additional asset but for now I'm just eyeing teams that might have more than they need.

Yup, I’m eyeing the fukk out of Gortat and that #15 pick... drafting Mikal and potentially Robert Williams... :wow:

Regardless, if he wants to opt in be my guess but next year he’s gone. I believe we’ll have a few other contracts coming up next year.

Was listening to the Woj podcast where they theorized that Doncic can potentially control where he gets drafted by threatening to just stay in Europe.

My ridiculous mind was trying to figure out how the Knicks could convince him to let them draft him in the second round :russ:
