What's the FO's next move?

What do we avoid and what do we set our sights on?

I'd scrap any of these Kawhi or Lebron plots that are unlikely to happen and would blow up the youth rebuild for a win-now approach for starters. Let Fiz install his culture with a bunch of young open minded cats. The offseason plan is gonna be impacted pretty heavy by how the draft lottery plays out and whether or not Kanter opts-out to give us cap space. Regardless of that though, I'm looking for takers on Courtney Lee and approaching the offseason with a conservative outlook unless something major comes up that changes our plans. I'm still looking at Hezonja, Noel and Grant as potential cheap adds with upside too.

Frank/Burke
THJ/Dotson
Bridges/Hezonja
KP*/Grant
KOQ/KP*

Feels like it's attainable without mortgaging much flexibility going forward (but GM's doing dumb ish blows these kinda beliefs up every year to be fair). That second round pick could change the outlook too...there may be a wing or a big that slips who we can drop in the rotation early.

:francis: I’m okay with the hiring, and more relieved that we didn’t hire Mark Jackson.

:francis: Just want to understand the logic behind the reason for them choosing to pass on Bud.
You are asking for an answer to a question that may not even be based in reality.

Bud - seeing the bucks position available - may have hesitated on any offer by New York considering how great coaching Giannis might be.

The Bucks also were the ones who gave Kidd GM power, so he might be getting a package like that.

I really doubt it's as simple as "Bud will want the job no matter what...but, we are going to choose THIS OTHER guy."

I vote to ban @Mr. Jack Napier out of this thread.

We don’t need OKC fans all up in our shyt

:philjacksonlol:OKC fan? @Mr. Jack Napier is not an OKC fan considering the things that the Thunder FO have said about Melo, you know, them expressing that they want to move on and all that. So @Mr. Jack Napier has been secretly scouting new fanbases

:philjacksonlol: Funny shyt is the real OKC fans in here are like fukk Carmelo. My nikkas @DaFilthyLucre @blac_da_rappa @cfountain @Loose know what’s up.

I'm wondering if Fiz getting an offer from PHX got the Knicks moving more quickly on closing out. Bud may have wanted to wait to see the Bucks situation and they didn't want to lose out on both Fiz and Bud. Only thing I'm mad at is finding out Ettore Messina is interviewing with the Bucks and we didn't make him one of our 11 candidates. That was my pick for a long time.

Any word on the assistants coming on board?

Good ?

:patrice::lupe:

They did interview Juwan Howard & Mike Woodson. Howard worked with Fiz in Mia during the Bron-Wade-Bosh Heatles era, was an assistant coach for Woodson in Atlanta. I'm guessing at least one of those guys gets brought on, if not both.

Said it a couple of times in the previous thread and I'll reiterate here, we need to throw a bag at Rod Strickland and/or (preferably and) Andre Miller to work with our guards and coach em up.

True.

OTOH, as surprising as it was that Knicks HC job was so coveted, maybe Messina and to a lesser extent Bud just wasn't that into us :ld:
