if everyone drafted 1-10 was a star there would be 100+ all star caliber players in the league
Thats not how reality works.
if he ends up becoming more than reliable offensively and an all nba defender(which is very possible) ...we got more than enough value at the pick

It was the #8 pick, not a top three pick. What were you expecting??? Most of those picks at that slot are expected to be starters or at worse case back-up players. Only 8/61 of the 8th overall picks of the NBA draft have gone on to make all-star games anyway.
